WHAT IS COPPER SLAG?

Copper slag is a by-product created during the copper smelting and refining process. As refineries draw metal out of copper ore, they produce a large volume of non-metallic dust, soot, and rock. Collectively, these materials make up slag, which can be used for a surprising number of applications in the building and industrial fields.

Air-cooled copper slags have a black color and glassy* appearance. As a general rule, the specific gravity will vary with iron content...The unit weight of copper slag is somewhat higher than that of conventional aggregate.

* Please note that this glassy appearance results when the slag has been granulated with water. SHARPSHOT® gets its unique qualities by being ambient (air) cooled, and is dull - not glassy.

ASPHALT ROAD PROJECTS

The angular shape and toughness of the SHARPSHOT® particles ensure a good anchor-lock pattern that can resist high static and dynamic loads resulting in a sealcoat that is more durable and provides excellent wet-track abrasion.

NON-SKID

Non-Skid SHARPSHOT® 30x60 makes a more durable non-skid product due to its hardness.

It resists oxidation thus maintaining surface integrity.

It features 100% fractured faces in its particles, is black in color and is UV-resistant.

LINE REMOVAL

Line Removal SHARPSHOT® 20x50 is one of the fastest cutting expendable abrasives on the market, is environmentally-friendly, and contains less than 0.1% crystalline silica.

SHARPSHOT® 20x50 is the ideal product for removing old and broken lines on asphalt pavement.
